If you missed the WCS Substitute Refresher Training Class offered in July, don't worry! A makeup class will be held on August 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Pre-K Roper building. Current substitutes need to check their email for a calendar invite. New substitutes must complete the online Substitute 101 Class and present a copy of their certificate to be admitted to the refresher/orientation class. Remember, without this training, you will not be eligible to substitute for the 2024 to 2025 school year at WCS.

During the WCS Board of Education Meeting on Tuesday, the WCS Central Support Services was renamed the "Julius Walker, Jr. Administrative Building. This name will be carried on in the future if and when there is a change in location. Congratulations to Mr. Julius Walker, Jr. for having this great honor bestowed upon him. The WCHS Football Field was renamed the "Robert Cody Football Field". This name change will be carried on to the current and future football fields. Congratulations to Coach Robert Cody for having this honor bestowed upon him. Coach Cody has won the most football games during his tenure. Mr. and Mrs. Barsanti shared the EF Educational Tours Presentation for the opportunity for future cultural experiences for scholars and staff to travel abroad.

There will not be anymore cheerleader tryouts beyond August 1, 2024 until the 2025-2026 academic year. You will need to have a current physical form in order to tryout. Thank you. The Washington County Panthers Battalion JROTC arrival at JCLC Leadership Camp in Blackstone, Virginia. The cadets chosen to attend this week-long Pre-Basic Training with SGM Arnold and SFC James were eager to travel to learn new experiences. Day 1 was a success with Arrival, ALPHA, BRAVO and CHARLIE Company assignments, Safety Briefing, organization of sleeping quarters, getting acquainted, dining, preparation for day 2 and lights out.
