Today, WCS Board of Education honored long-time educator and native son Julius Walker, Jr. by commemorating the central office, formerly known as WCS Central Support Services, as the newly branded "Julius Walker Jr. Administrative Building". As noted by the many friends, family members, and colleagues, Mr. Walker is most deserving of this honor.
The event was marked by smiles, hugs, and warm wishes from an impressive crowd of supporters who gathered on the front lawn today. There were more than a dozen individuals who provided remarks--recounting the days and deeds of Mr. Walker, and testifying to the positive impact he has had on the schools, community, careers and generations of families who call Washington County home.
Congratulations to Mr. Walker, and thank you for your work, dedication and perseverance to leave WCS a better place than you found it. Through your motto of "...firm, fair, and consistency", a legacy of excellence has been established that will last for generations to come.
Photos from the event will be posted in the coming days.
